The Weave (1 Hand FW)
The Weave', a move which any new spinner aspires to, has a visual edge that impresses even the most cynical! You want variation? There's 3 beat, 5 beat, backwards, forwards and all of the above behind your back! Running before you can walk is the most common mistake made when learning 'the weave'; often resulting in even the most patient learner giving in to frustration. So, firstly, put one poi down and lets get this thing started! 1) Hold the poi in your right hand, spinning it in a backwards circle. 2) As the poi hits its lowest point direct it across your body towards your opposite shoulder allowing it to spin on the left side of your body. 3) Again, as the poi hits it's lowest spinning point on the left, turn your hand so its palm down and direct the poi back across your body to your right shoulder. The 'one hand weave' is the basic move required to put a more complex weave together and should be practiced with both hands.
