Ok, if you look at the tutorial pages they have some nice vids.
Basically the best thing to do is go back to basics and work up:
Reverse crossovers
Reverse 2bt
Reverse 3bt
Reverse 5bt
and if it is still tricky try using one poi at a time then swapping!!![/list] |

Personally i would concentrate on getting the 3 bt backwards nailed, i found the best way of starting i found was going from a forwards into a backwards, The way i learnt was as you flick the Fwds from side to side, on the side you are most comfortable on, instead of bringing the lead poi back to the other side, keep it there and flick yourself through 180 degrees with the poi. Your hands will naturally flow into the backward motion about half way through the turn
You should end up the other direction spinning backwards!!!!
Then you got to co-ordinate your hands in reverse, so the 3btf runs "over across, under, under, back under across, reversed it's under across, over, over, back over across.
It flows very nicely between the two, once you it going, remember the flick between can be done both directions, so practice turning both ways
Remember the poi don't actually change direction you do!!!!!
I hope this makes sense, and i hope it helps :D |

When I learned the 3 beat backwards I just started off learning on my left side then focused on the right. Also had the poi att full length so when I did it wrong I saw a poi in closeup
Then a few smacks in the head later and its cake |

| I had more trouble learning the forward 3 beat then I did learning the backwards (for some reason the backwards stuff is alot easier for me) I got the 5 beat weave but I can not for the life of me get the 5 beat backwards weave, I think i fear for my nose too much |

I'm in the same boat here with the 5bt reverse. I got the forward version and everything else in reverse leading up to it. However, I have been trying for a couple of days to get the 5bt reverse and continue to hit myself square in the chest. (Being a chick, that REALLY sucks ). Twice, I kinda did it in some sloppy manner, but lost it again directly afterward. I even grabbed two sticks and went through the hand motions so that I could slow it down but for whatever reason... ugh.
Anybody got a tip for this frustrated poi noob?

Try moving your hands to the other side of your body as the poi spin upwards, then it will pass on your side instead of into your chest. |

Vipes: Thanks for the reply. After reading it today, I've tried traversing my body more quickly on the upswing. I am closer but found that the culprit is really my left wrist not giving the poi enough "oomph" on the last rotation before moving to the other side. It runs out of steam early and flies straight back over my arm (i.e. toward the face, LOL) instead of around. Gonna try giving it some extra energy from the forearm maybe? If it works, I'll come back and do a little dance for you all. |

| You really need to give your left wrist a big flick as you get it in place, then it should have enough momentum |
