|
|
This might sound stupid, but it intrigued me and I had to ask
I can do 3,4,5 beat waves, both forward, reverse and btb, forward and reverse, but I have heard & seen ( on line ) a 2 beat wave. It's done usually in the butterfly plane, or sometimes at the side of your body. It looks like a very simple smooth movement and the poi spins very fast. I cant crack it, can somebody please explain how it is done ( assuming I got the name right )
Thanks |

ummm its defo not in butterfly plane i dont think. Im suprised you havent already done it learning your 3bt!
basically its the same a 3bt except you dont add the extra beat so the poi make a figure of 8 pattern.
i think you are on about a differnt move or like you said the name is wrong. do you have a linky to a vid?

Waves are essentially (As far as I'm aware) Done in your butterfly plane.
An example would be doing:
- Butterfly Plane
- FWD.3bt on your left hand side
- Bring poi in front where it does three beats
- Then your poi move to the right of your body and are doing a RVR.3bt
Is that the wave? |

Yeah, weaves are done on your side planes and Waves are done on your front planes.
Like a fountain almost but your not going in a circle. Just from left to right.
Ya dig? |

| It's simpler to just say wave rather than 90 degree 3bt weave rotation I guess. It's just what I've always known it to be lol |

It's a very simple trick. Iso Waves look snazzy, you could probably pull off a BTB Wave thinking about it as well. So dabble with those!
I think it's going with the principle of going left to middle, to right. In which case it's possible to do a TTN Wave with Splits and Variants. |

Lol it was a good tangent none the less! We covered some god "Grey Area" Ground when it comes to waves anyways which I'm sure will be helpful to Jocos' question!
To answer the Q tho...
You can't do even number beat waves other than .2bt because it's principally doing a FWD.#bt weave to a RVR.#bt weave. It's not like a Windmill where you go from front to back.
Well as far as I know, can you pull off four beat weaves Felix? I've just never seen them other than Windmills. |
