IMO threads like this will scare people away from your forum. 
Look at a lot of people's opinion of HoP for example as they are always being told to "do a search".
It takes a lot of guts posting something on a site like this when you're new to poi. Often they dont want to hunt through loads of threads to find the answer to their specific question. So threads like this may just put them off asking completely and therefore hinder their learning in a HUGE way.
