I discovered poi first in India about 5 years ago-didn't know what it was called where to learn or buy till I moved to London a year ago. I'm going back to New York City soon and have never met any other Americans who have heard of it. Anyone out there? Esp. NYC?

My goodness, this is a rather old post. I'm not sure if you're still interested or if you've found poi spinners on this side of the Atlantic already, but I know of a small community of firespinners in Rutgers University in New Jersey and Johns Hopkins University in Maryland ^_^
