Bought my first poi last weekend at Download Festival.
I've been practising pretty much every evening and can do the forwards weave, and the backwards weave for about a minute without hitting myself in the leg :D

Hay Hay, welcome to the forums. keep practicin the bw weves and it will come to you Smile it took me a while.
I recomend the tutorial pages Smile they always help me out if i need to see how the trick is actually done.
But if theres no video, dont be afraid to ask around the forum we dont bite... (i dont know about aj...) jokin... were all nice people Smile
You will love it here

p.s. the tutorial pages here were a great help with the weaves
next im going to try BTB Shocked

You can, but you will get very frustrated.
Try reels instead.

howdy there sprinkle!
welcome to the forums(^_^)
well by all means try btb!! but you'll want to start with reverse btb weaves first, their the easiest of the two to do, and just take it slow, you dont wanna be whipping around poi you cant see and risk smacking yourself in the back of the head or sumthing!!
