Hi all, I'm new to this site and new to poi. I'm from Devon, UK. I love trance, hard dance and rock . I have always admired poi artists from afar. I've just come back from visiting my friends in Glastonbury. One of my french friends is a brilliant poi artist and she got me started this weekend. Now I guess it's a matter of practise practise practise - or should that be practice practice practice??? |

Just in case anyone now confused about practice and practise....
practise is the verb ie we all practise poi
pracice is the noun ie we should all get some more practice with the poi (especially me)
unless you are American and then the verb is the same as the noun!
Just have too much time on my hands |

Lol. He's right you know! (SO your correction was WRONG dave :P)
If I get confused I just replace it with the word 'advice' or 'advise' - depending on whether or not the practi_e in hand has an s or a c.
Cos we all know when you're using the wrong word when it comes to advise/advice.
What a tactic! |

This of it this way:
" i would like some adviCe"
" i could adviSe you, but i'm stupid"
"i practiSe poi, i'm a newbie. I could do with more practiCe"
now whenever you think of using the words you'll think of me and smile |

It's not so much using grammar, but speaking English rather than American.
We all know English is a messed up language and they do have a point use one word instead of 2 almost identical but with same pronunciation.
But I feel that seeing as I was taught grammar and studied linguistics at Uni that I really should make some use of my educasion!!! |

Sorry, daedra
just reread that post and it sounded like putting people down for not using correct english.
I'm not a picky person who runs around correcting others, is a personal choice....
Right off to practice some more moves now....lol |
