my bf bought me a set of sonicstars glow poi for my birthday, seemmed really good quality handles and chains really comfy and well made....
shame i cant say the same for the poi units! during my first use i had to keep stopping and starting as the batteries kept comming loose and had to put the batteries back in place! i had to keep repeating this action if i spun them too fast this also made them come free.
As they were new poi i had a knock and went to do the battery replacement and the led unit fell out! the thread to screw them into the ball had cracked and broken!
long story short i've sent them back for a refund but this leaves me without glow poi
so for around £25 - £35 which glow poi are good quality? |

hiya vixy!
'tis sad to hear of your poi misfortunes = ( so i'll lend you a hand
ok two sets of glow poi i have purchased have served me well, firstly my first set of glow poi was a set of nightbursts from the poipoi shop on this very site lol.
http://www.poipoi.info/shop/index.php?rn=315&action=show_detail
these are reliable, and i have had these since roughyly last august. The batteries STILL havent died and can take a good knocking about, their ball linked chains, which arent AS flexible as chain link, but its still dammned good product! their good for all paces of poi spinning i think, a very good purchase if you get them
secondly, another set of poi i bought this january
http://www.homeofpoi.com/shop/productDetails/267_55_LED_glow
these poi are great poi, can come in single colours or you can pay a couple of extra pounds for a rainbow set (of which i have bought two of) i myself love these poi and doing tricks with them i think is far easier as due to the length you can slow down the tricks considerably and in some cases pick up tricks quicker, as with the nghtburst poi, they can be used with all paces of poi spinning and still look excellent. As a further option you can also order a pack of six spare batteries, just in case, thats what i did, and again its only a little bit more on top of the cost of the poi, £1.20 i think but check the link to make sure
I hope this helps you in some way at least!! happy spinning vixy!! |

I got them with socks off here and they are brilliant. BEst poi I have ever bought. And if your going somewhere you dont want your nightbusts to get broken, then you take them out and swap for tennis balls |

Im gonna be buyin some glow poi this week, gonna go with either Nightburst or Globalz. Wanna take my poi to Stonehenge and it would be nice for some illumination even if it isnt fire.
I got to ask this though, smeone told me I could get globalz in one of those metal canisters and not the bag is this true?? I ask this because someone told me that they saw globalz for sale for £18.99 but in a metal canister and I thought that nightbursts came in a can. So if their nightburst for £18.99 I will be so happy

re-chargeable ones are the way forward until the hyperlights come out. you NEVER have to buy batteries thus no fiddly changing them either, there are 2 led units so they are twice as bright and they are locked in place securly with screws cos you never have to change the batteries so no breaking the thread they have the atoms and the glo-ball ones at fire toys. they cost a bit more but in the long run the ammount you spend on batteries and replacement led units its worth it. |

Uhhh yeah but their like £40, I know I would be saving money in the long run but I cannot afford that much, I can possibly sort out £20 to buy some.
Now youve put me in a difficult place somwhere between being skint and wanting the best. |

| i apologise, dont worry i am brassic all the time as well i get my wage and its gone the next week on bills and house n shizzle like that but i have owned over 4 pair of glow poi now and every one of them the led unit has broken (this is just my personal experience/opinion) but i have figured out that buying better equipment straight up is alot better as i have spend at least 120squid on glo poi thats nearly a pair of aerotechs (one day) lol but then my friend has had his foxy glo socks for a while now n there still in good nick its just my personal opinion, i would rather wait n save for the better pair. sorry if i have confuddled you :( |

ARGH...those atoms look lovely though.
I also wanna buy them localy because I am such an impatient fool, I cant wait to get em out of the packet and play, I also hate our postman as he steals all the good stuff we are supposed to get in the mail.
Well thinking about it logically I should get some Globalz because all the parts are easily replaced, if the balls go I can get some new balls etc etc
Batteries are no problem, we got a Poundshop that sells em in pairs for...well £1. |

why would you want replacement heads?
They're not likely to break unless you really try to hurt them. |

Really, everything breaks on me LOL
I got some glowsticks but they snapped and were pretty crappy, kept turning off every time they hit each other so maybe im being a little cautious with the fact that I dont want em to turn off every time they hit something.
Saying that I am pretty good now and its not often that my poi hit each other anymore (except butterflies) they like to hit me though.
Well im off to Canterbury tomorrow to do some shopping, hopefully will comeback with some nice glowing poi and other treats. Ill let you know how I get on, I have heard theres about 3 more shops that have opened there selling poi and circus stuff so I definateley wanna have a good look round.
I dont want to get ripped off though i know a few shops there that are severeley overcharging for poipoi products and it works out cheaper for me to buy em on here. |
