split hip/shoulder reels and hip-to-shoulder reels?
Split TTN
Stalls
if you can learn split shoulder reels, you can do the windmill, cos they're basically the same thing |

You know what I would suggest, and I'm just starting to discover after 2 years.. I suck at all the basics.. I mean I can do them.. but I can't do them all both ways like.. hip reel turns to the right... NOT so smooth the other way.
Watch some inspirational videos. like... dervish years, or dinosaurs ate my circles, or..of course good ol mr. Rovo.. whatever YOU like.. and try and copy a few moves.
What about a fountain? That's a nice one.. and use BIG ARMS... They can be loads of fun.
Good luck. |

agreed! I myself have also come to a plateau so to speak! I mean i have been doing poi since last august, and i think personally i've come quite far, and im starting to delve into the more advanced tricks! but i can never pluck up the courage to give them a try hehe! it's like when i first started and the enevitable knocks in the face with unlit fire poi haha! It's that all over again!
Coi Parp, for transtional things ie simple changes of direction or trans into different tricks, you could always do wrist stops, they look pretty snazzy and also you can go into quite a few tricks with them i found! like split/split linked reels or sumthing? or you could go into a whole load of isolated tricks? |
