No. Its sort of like shoulder reels but in a ceiling plane.
But it depends what you want to do.
A 2beat corkscrew is similar to shoulder reels but a 4beat is more like trying to do a 3 beat in a ceiling plane once above and once below.
Ill lket Jayne explain more, as i can do these, but cant for the hell of me describe it. |

i had that trouble for a bit! try concentrating on putting the same force into both arms when you're moving about, i found it helped being more aggresive with my left hand (im right handed) to make up for it being a bit behind in the weave, specially going backwards
been attempting a corkscrew with lightsticks, my head hurts and im surprised they havnt snapped yet! does anyone else find them a bit too light? |

A corkscrew is a windmill but horizontal.
Easy way to get into it as a beginner:
Do a windmill, then lean forward until you're doing a corkscrew.
It's also easier to do 4 beat corkscrews than 4 beat windmills.

amen to that J, i hate 4bt windmills, oh the head smacking that I've had! but it's all good fun at the end of the day!
yeah corkscrews are a good trick and look pretty snazzy when your linking tricks!
What i found that helped me is to move me hands like im stirring something, and when it does a whole rotation drop your arm slightly, and stir upwards if you catch me drift, then again once you've done one "stir" raise your arm slightly and stir downward again. Once you got it with one hand you'll nail it in no time flat! |

I have the same problem, instead of moves being in split time they end up chasing each other.
Its usefull to think of the movement like pedaling a bicycle but loose the up and down movement.
This helps me loads.
