yeah, I've taken up poi as of... 9 days ago, which has all been fun! I only started because my friend bought me a set of cobras for my birthday.

I've progressed worryingly fast, to the point where I feel something is wrong...

but basically, I've pretty much nailed basics, and I'm able to flow between them (my recent accomplishments are: BW 3 beat, FW 5 beat, windmill, thread the needle, and the ability to switch between them all... I dunno, is that a good pace? I'm not too sure...)

anyway, it seems I love it (Parkour is my main passion) and want to continue for years to come!

oh, and I like to spell things correctly! Wink

AJ is our parkour man. He likes it too! Yes you are at a great place to be - i found TTN a hellish beast to master but you've got it in 9 days. Cheeky monkey heh.
Check out the tuition vids and keep spinning!

wow, I thought I'd get a "what's parkour?" reaction... but that's pretty cool...

and good to hear I'm on track, though I still know I've got a HUGE amount to learn, so I'll make sure that I never become complacent!

ooooo free running!! i would love to get started doing that! might journey up the uni and see if they have a soc that does it
welcome to the forums tomfool!!
yeah pretty much what felix said, take a ganders at the tuition and freestyle vids, or just ask around if there are tricks you need help with or anything and someone will be there to help you out!!

cool, thanks people. and I love the tuition videos, they work really well (I'm a very visual learner)

though I have to rename all the moves to make them seem a bit more masculine =P

I can't be doing with "butterfly" to "angle wings" to "halo"
no, for me it's "ring of fire" to "neck breaker" to "noose" Laughing

don't worry, I'll be around, I'm quite a forum dweller Laughing

yeah, can't flip at all, I'm quite a purist really (not through a deliberate decision, just that flips bore me!)

and yeah, poi seems quite a natural thing to me, though I've slowed down a lot in my progression so I can just clean up what I've got so far.

P.S. I'm not a grammar Nazi, I just... well... you'll see =P
