Cheers for all your welcoming messages and banter. Yeah I can't wait to meet up with some of you and see how it's really done!

Well, had my second lesson today and managed the 3beat weave today lol so hopefully if I keep up at this speed I'll be spinning fire in no time ;-))

By the way, not being funny, but does 'play' mean something els? Only I saw it mentioned in a few replies and it sounds like it means something...guess I still gotta learn all the jargon.

My daughter's 10 on Sat so it'd be cool when I've taught her some. The full moon evenings on the beach sound good, can kids go to them?

Well send me details whoever you are!

Thankies

Sarah

haha, play is like a lil festival thing Felixwah wants us all to go on but we cant lol.

The full moon nights have no age limit, I've never seen anyone below about 15 there before but hey who cares!

I shall inform you of the next one when I have details.

Well the next full moon's on Sat (it's a blue moon too) but it's my girl's b'day so not sure if I'll make that or not. Maybe I'll wanna come on my own anyway, do you guys have a drink or anything and how long do they usually last? Question, questions....

They usually go on til quite late. Some people have a drink. There's sometimes drummers and a bonfire. Last year was my first year going so I went towards the end of summer when it actually got dark early heh, so we'll have to see what times they're playing with etc.

Hows the poi progress?

I was off my rocker today when I managed to do the 3beat (she blushes) such a big grin on my face I felt well chuffed with myself!!

Oh I learnt the corkscrew

Both of these things I have since found out when trying again later, that they are now unlearnt, and ready to be learned again another day :~(

hehe.
Hey! Corkscrew is a great one to have grasped! If you can corkscrew, you can windmill (just stand up).

And if you can windmill you can split shoulder reel.
And if you can split shoulder reel you can shoulder reel.

And if you can shoulder reel you have the basis of hip reels.

BEAUTIFUL.

yeah that's what the guy said, found it hard trying to do it above my head though. But ah, I'm so excited about learning it all. I just seem to be a right dozey mare for ages and then all of a suuden...I have it!

yesterday I couldn't lift my arms over my head to take my top off properly.

Man my muscels are gonna be so toned in a couple of weeks.

its fantastic stuff, this poi lark :P because you can really notice changes in your flexibility, stamina and strength, flowers are a great example, they really screw with your mind AND your shoulder muscles, but then all of a sudden you've got them!
