| Ok, I've been practicing all day, and I keep whacking myself in the back or in the head. What am I doing wrong?!? Think I need someone to watch me try or something to show me where I'm screwing this up, cause I'm really hurting my back now! |

nail one hand at a time, then (and only then) try and put the two together. If you still struggle despite having both individual hands nailed, rather than trying continuous changes in planes, do 3 beats in front of you, then 3 behind, then once you can do that, cut it down to 2, and then to 1.
Good luck! |

ok hip and shoulder reels are basically the poi going from forward to backward with you stood in the middle. ok so swinging same time fw either side of you to turn to bacwards you would wait to turn on the downbeat (so when the poi pass your feet) and turn your body 180 with the poi and to go back to fw you would turn on the upbeat (when the poi pass your head) again turning your body with the poi these are tuck turns. hip reels are the same motion except that your body just stays in the middle (no turning). sooooooooo swinging same time fw either side of you again keep the poi exactly where they are but move your body 90deg to the right. in doing this you should have one in front and one behind. now follow the same instructions as with the tuck turn eg turn on the down beat etc.
It is the same also if you can fw and bw weave instead of turning your body you let your arms do the work.
and a crosser is exactly the same as hip reels except with your arms crossed!
hope that helps and wasnt too techy lemme know if you guys need more help

Right....I need help (or a lobotamy!)
I've cracked shoulder reels....and now I can't seem to do hip reels!
I can do either hand seperately, but when I put them together, my left hand seems to go all off and does it's own thing!
and also, is it normal for them to feel totally wrong, after doing shoulder reels?
Its just odd having to do the movements kind of upside-down.....
Oh and it didn't help that I clocked myself square round the face...really hard!
Help!! |

what you may be doing is trying hip reels in the reverse direction to how you learned em.
Take it slow and have a play. Then when you've nicked it you can go onto these! |

My bain hurts! Sorry if I'm being dumb but..do you mean that I'm trying to do it in the opposite way to what I am when I do each arm individually?
I think one of the issues is that I can't do my hands inwards very well, if that makes sense!? |

by reverse i mean in one direction the planes in front of you will be anticlockwise, and in another they will be clockwise.
You may have learned it, say, anticlockwise, and are now attempting it clockwise.
Get me? |
