I have a kinda strange question.....

I prefer fire poi above all, and I'm going to be traveling in the near future. I've been wondering about traveling on a plane with wicks that have already been dipped in fuel and burned. Since airport security is so strict these days.....do you think they will give me a hard time? I mean, if I were some security dude (with no knowledge of poi) checking somebody's baggage, and I found a pair of poi that smelled like fuel I might get suspicious......
I know I sound paranoid...but airport security can be really annoying and unpredictable. I was flying from California to New York one time, and they went through my baggage (not the stuff I was carrying, but the stuff I had checked) and they confiscated a bracelet that had fake bullets on it! Laughing

Has anybody had previous experience with this?

I think they can be a bit of a pain when it comes to wicks that have been used before.

The solution I plan to use is to make myself some cheap wicks which I can use while I'm there and then throw away or donate to someone else before I leave.

I hate the idea, because it seems so wasteful and environmentally unsound, but the authorities are pretty much forcing me to do so if I want to engage in my favourite hobby. sceptic
