ok so i have been working my arms off trying to get this blinking 5 beat weave.

It's very frustrating!! So i want to take some time do learn something else ( the reward system ie you learn some thing new you feel better about what you can't do)

So here is my question.. what do you consider to be foundation moves that every poister should be able to do?

butterfly (inwards and outwards with either hand)
Reels (shoulder and hip)
3 beat weave
Carry turns
Split time circles( wall plane)........

isolations are a must

direction changes i.e wraps and stalls are also a must to make your flow smooth.

umm flowers are very verisyle and i would say btb would be a good one to conquer. Smile

Agreed. Isolations. Learn them, for they are good. Smile

Takes a while, but it's worth knowing what they are and just having a play about from time to time. You can learn them gradually that way. :D

Its the planes I need to work on with isolations really, left hand sux also, working on isolated buzzsaw which looks the nuts when im not the one doing em...

I can isolate to a degree and that degree took me into practicing my inverted stalls rather than isos themselves...which is why I suck so much!

Just needs a lot more practice and ill be fine.

Pah... why does everyone try and start with buzzsaws? Next to iso weaves, I find them one of the most difficult!

Isos and stalls are pretty closely linked actually. If you're good with one, it'll help with the other. You're probably closer than you realise! Wink

if you can iso-wallplane its a good way to do it and like you said lou, stalls are a good intro to isos cos its sort of an iso but only a semi circle and not the full circle.

Helps you get the idea kind of thing.
