it's not just poi people that act like they created the art form.. i've had it with most things.. where the art form should be nurtured it get squashed because divvys think that it should not be shared with others.

luckily its not the majority. I know one guy he aint a bellsniff but his ego is a bit manic basically thinking beacuse he can 9bt weave he is gods gift to poi fair enough he can 9bt very well, and yes i have tried explaining there are different aspects to poi other than 9bts like fluidity etc you all know the shiz but i dont think he listened then i felt a bit of a hypocrit as i do mainly focus my poi on pure techyness but meh. Point can we change these people?

Just tell them "can you effectively pull that off in a performance" That'll shut their face.

I do like looking at techy tricks if I'm learning. But at the end of the day it doesn't mean squat to me if it can't be done effectively in performance. That's what I judge peoples skill on when it comes down to it.

Poi is strangely like meditation to me. I get a sort of inner peace while I am spinning.

Poi has introduced me to many people. Though I know absolutely no one else who spins in my area, the forums have been a gateway for me to talk to many interesting and helpful people

Poi has got me back into shape after an industrial accident that left me unable to work.

Poi has helped me and my girlfriends autistic daughter to bond. Autistic children are very anti social and in just a few days her attitude for me has changed for the better.

Poi has beenthe greatest help to me(apart from a couple of close friends) over quite a stressful few months. Losing job,girlfriend,having to ask person to move out of house etc....

If I find myself getting stressed or alone and dwelling on something negative, I just get my poi out and will have a little spin until my positive side comes out. People think i'm strange but 99% of the time I will have some poi on my person, but we each have our own ways of dealing!!!
