Got one of those questions that dictionaries and things just can't answer? Why not throw em out here, somebody might know!

I'll start us off:

Does anyone know if there is a link between taxis (vroom vroom) and taxidermy?

Taxi as in taxicab comes from the medieval latin 'taxa', meaning to charge, essentially because they charge you for your journey. Taxidermy comes from the greek words taxi and dermy and roughly translates as skin arrangement.

is it true that if all the population of china stood and a chair the same height faced eastand jumped off at the same time it could create a tidal wave that would wipe out the west coast of america?

Sadly Felix that would never happen. Even tho it's millions of people we're talking about it wouldn't generate the power and displacement needed to send a tidal wave to America and destroy the coast. Meteors only do this because they have so much speed behind them as well as blowing up before they hit the earth.
Humans will only travel at somewhere in the region of 120mph at terminal velocity! Not enough speed.

That's my educated guess!

ok earthquake maybe? slight tremor? would they all bounce back up flying 2ft in the air?

if they all landed at the same time there would be a substantial tremor definitely! but it would dissipate fairly quickly

Then it would make two smaller tremors. But theoretically if the earth tremors then you should get osculation? Causing potentially a bigger tremor...I'm no physicist! Ask Xan! He knows about chemicals!!
