Hi! I managed to teach myself the backwards 3 beat weave -
very nice feeling when it "clicked" for me!
I can even do a 180 turn to the right, going from a
backwards 3bt weave to a forwards one (ditto forwards to
backwards, turning to the right). I have tried to turn to
the left but usually mess up somehow. I've paid careful
attention to my timing when turning to the right, and
I've attempted to do this in "mirror reverse" when turning
to the left, but I still can't do it. I would love to be
able to do a full 360 (rather than 180, do a few reps of
the forward weave, another 180, do a few reps of backward
weave, etc.) Very Happy
Summing up - I'm looking for advice on 2 separate but related
issues - how do I turn to the left, and how do I do a 360?
help

err its kinda hard 2 explain (well 4 me at least i had help geting a fountain down -360 3beat weave) my advice for now is get some one with a really good critical eye (gamers tend 2 be prime candidates for me) and get them 2 watch a vid then you or alternitively watch till you see the small bits that aren't flurishes and go find a mirrow to practise in frount of

(hard i know but ill have 2 run through the trick a few times brb)

kk so i ran through the trick and so far i have that i always keep both poi one the same side while i turn, that u have to turn quick enough to stop wrist traps and when you hit the back of your turn (so to say ur at 180) you will have used the turn on the left (if u turned that way) and shud bring the poi strait across your body (agian now your left but orriginaly ur right)

hope this helps ^_^

oh nd if not never 4get the tuition page ( i know most ppl will go there befor the forum but they helped me so much i feel obliged to point them out again just in case ^_^)

Thanks, Popinman. I am getting more consistent with it and
I think I really just need to practise it more. Taking a
vid is a really good idea - might just watch myself and see
if I'm doing something that's obviously off, as a start,
before I show it to anyone else. blush
I still think I need to smooth out my reverse weave and
get better control over where the figure-8 thingie crosses
over.
I should learn to walk before I run, eh? Rolling Eyes

lol ok man this is gonna sound really stupid but if you can do it on one side you will be able to do it on the other except your hands will be the opposite way around! Soooo if your doing fw 3bt and turning right your left hand will be under and if your turning left your right will be under in both cases the said hands leads Smile

yeh man posting a vid of yourself or finding other ppl to spin with (is the best) would help loads

peas.

Thanks, Felixwah. I was trying to turn too early in the weave
(left hand going over when turning right from a forwards
weave). Leading with the left as it comes under works much
better! Very Happy
I've also got it turning to the left. Thanks again.

i find the easiest way to turn is to try doing a FW (or BW) weave then move your body 90degrees left or right but try to keep the poi where they were... so your kinda doing it infront and behind you instead or side to side... once your happy turning your body to the left 90degrees then swing the top half of your body another 90degrees so the poi are now on your left side doing the same infront/behind thing...

then turn your feet. duh! Laughing

hope it helps!!

The BW 3bt clicked for me a few hours ago, I know whatcha mean its a great feeling :D

Iv been trying to do turns just spinning the poi normally but I can only manage to get it to work with the poi in the hand on the outside of the turn. These posts have helped me sort of figure out what im doing wrong, just hope I can get these turns sorted so i can start trying while weaving :D
