Hi there, SolariS!
Which direction are you trying to do it? I think most people find it easier backwards, so try finding out which way works best for you, and learn that one first
I find the leg-hitting thing comes from planes going skewiff, my advice would be to get one poi, and swing it BtB on the opposite side like it would in a weave for one beat, then bring it back. Do it with both hands, then try putting them together split time
Putting the third beat in requires the same movement as a normal weave - try the basic movements without the poi of needs be - I had to do that to get my head 'round it
Happy spinning! |

There's two different directions you can take when you do btb3bt's FWD and RVR (Go figure! Lol) FWD btb3bt's are a pain to learn...literally you smack yourself in the back and legs so many times it gets frustrating! A solution to this is to put the btb3bt's aside and work on btb2bt's.
This way you will get a feel for the movement. You really do have to move your body a lot from side to side when doing this trick.
For example if your poi are on the right your body should be on the left as to not hit yourself countless times!
Then once you have the btb2b't's done you will have a good feel for what movements you need to make and where your body has to be. Then it's a simple case of adding the last beat in! I hope this helps you out

i just can't get these...
i spin reverse cicles at my side and the go for a 2 beat weave motion behind me and then i loose the plane and speed. so end up tangled.. i tried Timmis way and go 1 beat before it went pear shaped!.. if only i could turn my head around |

Ahh ok then! Right well btb2bt's are much simpler than btb3bt's! Just start off by doing it with one poi.
For example. Say I was going to do a btb2bt in RVR (Reverse just in case you didn't know . Focusing on my right hand.
The poi will be spinning on the outside of my hand. So essentially my palm is facing forwards. The poi will be spinning as if your doing a RVR 2bt weave.
When it comes from moving the poi from my right to my left. I'll move my body slightly to the right as I bring my poi to the left. This helps prevent me hitting myself in the back or the back of my legs.
Then the same again when my poi moves back to the right. I'll move my body slightly to the left as my poi comes back to the right where it started.
If you just focus on doing it with one poi first then you'll get a good feel of where everything has to go!
When you know how to do it with each hand you put them together.
Now this is the tricky part.
Again if I was starting with my right hand. I Bring it across and move my body to the right, your right hand goes UNDER your left. You don't have time to stop now or you get thwacked! So you bring your right hand back to your right, then your left hand goes UNDER your right. This is your basic btb2bt weave in reverse! |

and lean forward it helps and pretty much waht dae said lol dont get fustrated with it, you will get it and if you do get fustrated just put ya poi down for half an hour go back and focus on another trick. The way you brain works is that if your constantly doing a trick wrong its going to remember it but your muscles wont leave it for a day or two and you will remember all the good point and not the bad, like your brain deletes bad form lol |
