Hey peoples.
Im simon, dom's (Fixat1oN) friend. I got my first poi about half a year ago after trying with some people's glow poi on a campsite back when i was addicted to my diablo.

Ive always been a fan of these kind of things, mainly diablos, got my first one when i was about 7 in france back in days when basically nobody knew what the hell they were. I own a few of them, also have an astrojax (sp?) which i can do a few things with.

Back on to poi..i brought my cobra poi version 2 as soon as i found out that air born kits up bluewater sold them. I messed about with them, got bored with not knowing/not being able to do anything spectacular with them at all and kinda put them aside and forgot about them. Untill about 3 weeks ago. My friend decided to get into the whole poi scene and we decided to make some sock poi for practising. So we got some stripey knee socks from new look and some tennis balls and stuck them in there and got spinning. roll smilie

So far im going pretty good considering my previous attempts. I have learnt the 3 beat weave both forwards and back in about a week. Can also do the butterfly and nearly thread the needle. At the moment i am learning the 3 beat weave BTB. and its hell'a hard. Specially with tennis balls that are as soft as rocks... Very Angry

But yeah, been lurking around here for a while now, you lot seem quite a decent bunch, and i understand that quite a lot of you are from around this area (kent) hope to get good enough to come to some of your meetups in the summer or something Smile any tips and advice are welcome. See ya'll around.

Simon.

hi hi hi!!!
welcome to the fold my friend!! speaking of meets it's short notice but we're having a meet in northwich next friday!
Check out the events and performances thread for the events and gigs thats occurring!

As I say we're meeting next week in northwich if you can make it over! the details are in the events and performances thread. It's titled MOTM.v2 you don't need to be "Good" to attend a meet! they're the best place to learn new tricks first hand rather than watching the videos! but should you need any help with tricks at all when there isn't a meet you can check out the forum where our trained team of funky spinners can sort you out in no time! Also make sure to check out the tuition for the basic poi trickery you will need to know!!

take care of yourself!
