Hello everyone, I am bringing you a very sad story that you might have heard about on the news recently, this event has indirectly effected me as you will find out.
Sophie Lancaster ( November 26th, 1986 – August 24, 2007) was a British woman who was brutally attacked with her boyfriend, Robert Maltby while walking through Stubby Lee Park in Bacup, Rossendale in Lancashire. As a result of her severe head injuries she went into a coma, never regained consciousness and later died. The police suggested the attack was possibly caused by the couple wearing gothic fashion and being members of the goth subculture.

I am not going to write much, if you watch the videos on her profile you will understand -

I never met this girl before she died but she was my best friends very good friend, as well as being alot
of my mates friend and as a result of the heartache this guy has gone through it hurts me seeing him like it as well as the many of my friends who knew her. This was a mindless attack which claimed the life of a loverly individual, i hope you all join me in wishing her loved ones the hugs they need and that the f**ckers that did it burn. I feel that you will all emphathise as i feel we are all individuals with open minds who cannot understand the mentalitly of certain people in this world and i presume most of you have had some sort of experience with encountering people like this, i certainly have been started on because i was wearing baggies or my hair was spiked up. The sad thing is this happens everyday and if it takes more than the life of one girl to be made an example of and to make people aware then i have truly lost faith in the world. Show your support for Sophie's family and the S.O.P.H.I.E campaign they have set up.
much love

Heart and feelings going out to friends and family.
Its ridiculous we live in a world where some people will go to these lengths jsut because some people look different.

innit man, they are just animals. The fact that the ambulance crew could not tell the *** of the pair and a witness said 'they used her head like a football' just sickens me. The trial is ongoing so lets hope they get what they deserve.

Prisons these days are better off than some student accommodation to be honest :S
But yeah giving them the death sentence won't solve any problems or bring anyone back as much as we want it to. But life in prison should be mandatory for any crime like this... |

Life is never life though.
Sorry to start of a hot topic. Of course your entitled to your opinions on Capitol Punishement.
I think we should leave any debating there and keep this a topic for thoughts and feelings for the family and friends. |

Im in agreement AJ, whatever happens to those people even if they dont think they feel guilty, there will always be thoughts in the back of there mind about what they have done to that poor girl.
Im happy her family have turned it into a postive by raising awareness about the perils 'alternative' people face on the street. Man those videos made me cry! |

| Ahhh the infamous Oublitte! That would be a fitting punishment! Tho I wish it were the entire lot of them rather than just two singled out individuals. |

A mob tend to have mob mentality. Peer pressure basically means that if it's perceived that enough people start doing something, the rest will follow. Psychology and instinct. As such, courts tend to go after the ringleaders, because the rest are, frankly, too damn stupid to have initiated anything themselves.
Though I agree. They should all be charged with grevious bodily harm, aggravated assault and either first or second degree murder.
It amazes me what people in this country can get away with lately, without particularly harsh sentences... |
