Hello

I started spinning poi about 3 weeks ago at about 6 in the morning in the middle of a snow storm.

I live in Huddersfield where I am commonly found hanging with a bunch of hippies, most of whom spin fire and glow staff.

Rather than follow the trend I decided I wanted to learn poi and after watching a couple of instructional video's I went out and started spinning.

In the last 3 weeks I've learned quite a lot and am now up to tackling the 5-beat weave backwards, hyperloops and the butterfly weave (which I find a little confusing at the moment)

I made my own weighted sock poi initially from sand filled juggling balls with golf ball weights in the end but the juggling balls split so I switched them for normal thuds.

I've also just ordered my first set of glow poi, the stardust ones from poipoi's shop and as its Riff-Raff in Leeds next week, you will probably find me there spinning away happily.

I'd have to agree with Rid on this one! Leave the Liquorice All Sorts at the door for they are the food of the devil!!
