I have been wanting to film a poi video for a long time now and was wondering if a few ppl wanted to meet up (hopefully sumone with a cam) and film?? any takers?

hey there.
i'm a media student inb redditch and bromsgrove. i've been planning a poi-movie for a while and i have a digital camera plus a DV camera.
the digital cam i can edit and post around but the DV thing i'm still working on...
any of this a use to anyone?

i did media for 3 years and am good with editing, the dv will produce a better quality vid Smile

this is sounding good guys. so whats the idea a movie with a plot??? or just a spinning movie. we could organise a meet on here and then meet to film.

i think a plot would be good man, will have a think today at work. it will take alot of work like but will be worth it in the end. We should all know enough people to go on it Smile

I think a movie would be so cool.

The plot should be all the spinners in the vid wanting to meet other spinners so they go off on their travels(sped up to save time of course) some shots of poi at train station and possibly a map argument. Then they meet some spinners, have a spin, say goodbye and go off to find other spinners. Maybe they get kicked off the train for doing poi and the plot thickens....

....maybe a murder...

NO forget that what about a poi-off like in the Run DMC - Its like that video...

nice idea. i also have one of where it starts off with one spinner who goes to a meet, gets like 3 other spinners to join him and continues until they have found 50 odd spinners culminating in one big fook off fire spin at the end. Like a poi road trip accross britain lol

or like 2 rival poi gangs with comedy fight scenes or poi offs lol ending in the 2 joining forces lol ripping off yuta and meenik's vid there abit tho Confused

YES, OMG we are so on the same wave length today.

Well I have about 10 people here who can poi proficiently enough to do a video. I also have one excelent child that does staff. Including props counting around 6 sets of varying fire poi and one fire staff. I have someone willing to make small denim poi just for the occasion in case there arent enough...they dont last forever but will be good for a good 3 days of spinning.

If daedra brings people from Canterbury in on it he could probably muster a good few as well.

I also have an awesome location localy that we use all the time, theres some nice high spots which are easily accessibly for roof poi and theres a large swimming pool area that was covered in years ago, we use itas a stage most of the time, there some steps to get high shots from. Its all been done up nice since this pic was taken and theres some nice contrasting graffiti as well.

I'd be interested! It'd be crazy stuff lol. But yeah where would we meet? We'd have to find a midpoint. Maybe do a couple meet ups beforehand etc

hehehe it would be mint but i can imagine organising that number of ppl would be a mish i reckon i could get between 10 - 20 ppl from manc to come plus a few from chester and liverpool.

we would have to do it over a couple of days tho im presuming

lol if we have that many ppl its goons be hard to organise everyone we is gonna have to have a set plan and time scale because i know if we get like 40 spinners meeting up that i will just spin smoke and no filming lol

Imagine the huge dipping pot that we would need to accomodate 40 people spinning fire! Not to mention the sheer amount of paraffin used.

Small paddling pool me thinks.
