lol, yesterday I learned to do the 3bt weave, and now today, I was playing around, and accidentally did a 5bt weave.. I can do 5bt weaves now I think (It doesnt look really smooth, but ok Smile)

YAY!^^

what should I learn now, these are the moves I learned yet:
-Weave's 2,3,5 (fw)
-Butterfly normal and Butterfly split time
-Cork Screw
-Buzzsaw ( learned how to switch to it whilst spinning few mins ago Wink)

I think thats about it, not pretty much yet, but hey! I just started :P
I learned 3bt weave yesterday
5bt today
buzzsaw yesterday
switching to buzzsaw today
butterfly 2 days ago

Smile learning tricks goes soo fast :D

what shud I learn now? (Ill check the board again in 1 hour, going to try to learn the hip reels now..)

I find learning tricks can happen really fast some days too! though other days my arms seem more interested in flailing...

My advice is, get into a routine of improving what you know and mixing together what you know, when I first picked up the poi and started 3beating I kept on only 3 beating for 2 or 3 days all the time, progressivley moving around, turning around, etc then when i had butterflies tight i worked on changing to and from in every way i could,

and so on,

Windmills are a nice smooth extension from a fwd 3bt, just turn 90degrees and put your arms above your head and continue the beat, probably not the best tutorial for you there but you get the idea!!

also try everything you can do, in reverse, thats a good next-step progression when you feel ready

cant do the windmill yet =\

oh and edit : the 5bt fw is wrong i think, it is 5 beats , but i do liek this :
-right hand : 2 right 3 left
-left hand : 3 left 2 right

exactly the opposite of whats correct I think? :O Embarassed

?? no I can do 7 beats if i do like this :
I do 5 beats on one side first , so my hands get a bit tangles up, and then I go to other side, and I can untangle 'em (thats 5 beats) , and if i go on for 1 more circle, im 7 beats and my hands are tangled same way as when doing the first (5beat weave). So then i need to put it over to the right side, but only works 1/4 times :P\

edit: also a question bout' butterflys, Im not rly good in them, and when I do them, they are not spinning completely vertical... and when I try to do them more vertical, they hit each other, and then my butterfly is fucked Smile
So I think I get what I do wrong, I have to do some kung-fu shit with my hands so they still:-
-spin vertically
-DONT hit each other

how 2 solve^

try putting one hand out a little further, just a tiny bit, you should find it wont interfere with the string/sock/chain of the other as its all rotating

Word people of poi, i'm fairly new to this lark, bin spinin just ova a month now. got all the basics down fine and its all smooth enough so i can mix eaisly between everything i no. However i'm gettin really bogged down on 5 bt BW. manged to nail 3bt, 3btBW n 5bt after a day of wanting to do that move but its bin almost 3days straight now and i'm stil baffled by 5btBW :?

How many beats can you do 2? I've heard rumors of 13bt but i'm gullible

If any one no's of any good resources let us no, and well done poipoi ppl on the tuition section, has bin my bible since i started

hey man i dont reckon you can do 13bt you'd have to be like stretch armstrong! lol i think 9bt is the highest but it just looks very forced and ugly. Umm as for some other good sites domorepoi.com, homeofpoi.com, spherculism.net (they talk about stuff ive never even heard of lol), feuershow.de (there is a translate button at the bottom, there tuition is pretty good loads of moves) and playpoi.com but apart from that youtube is the best for just checking out freestyle n some home made tuitions hope that helps :D
