I go gliding every Sunday up in Hook, and whilst i'm there there is always a taster session for about 4 people (different each week).
People who know me will vouch that i don't go anywhere without my backpack, and in it, sock poi. And they're great for wasting ground time at the airfield.
Every time, I attract the attention of would-be-poiers and spread the word of poi! I love introducing people to something that gives me so much satisfaction.

I'd also like to announce that I did my first Solo in a glider on Sunday :D All in all an excellent day!

How often do you guys get to enlighten someone of the god-like art that is Poi?

my spinning in public is a little bit non-exsistant but i guess for me it's everytime someone looks at the videos i've done, I get an email telling me who's downloaded them and that makes me realise that people do get something from it, although i find it a bit weird that i'm on peoples ipods!!

good post psychotic! keep up the good work :D

my friend aran got me into the delights of fire spinning about march this year started off with just me and borrowing staff at any given oppertunity!, watching me mates do poi, staff and fire breathing was awesome (o how i miss my team!) anyways, did staff for a few months before i picked up my first poi (some mouse poi from siesta! god i love that shop!) i loved the days when doing 3 beats was like an amazing feat of skill hehe, nowerdays the innosence of such simple tricks is just lost and now everyones trying to do the most hardcore tricks humanly possible (im tryng the 9bt weave ATM) we've inspired quite alot of people doing our spinning, when we did our busking festival in town there were a few people interested in what we were doing and fancied a go!

well it was an organised festival, but what we did was enlist our good ol' friend elliott (a drummer) we gathered as much junk he could drum on as we could, including road cones, signs even the kitchen sink (as a bass drum) he made a good beat for us and then we just started dancing! we got £20 for an hours work, so we went down the pub and bought a late brunch!

Sweet work daedra,

JaS, that sounds like a fab idea, and yeah, getting the courage to go up and do it is a big limitation lol. But where are they usually? I thought they were always on the North St. Side of HSBC, and thats no place to poi!

no one in canterbury makes any music in public its so annoying, what i wouldnt give for even a couple of african drums! we had like a group of 7 or 8 of them outside the London school of economics and that was amazing!
