Glo - Catches??

I was messin around with my nightburst (hey, finally I can say the early darkness in winter is good for something!!!) and found that catching my poi looks kind of cool.

I've just been doing it like, you know that old trick-yo-yo move where you curl it in front of you, in a swooping upwards and outwards motion from your hip to shoulder height, yeah like that, and catching it.

But if anyone has cool things to add to it, like, other stuff you can do with catches after you've caught em, or cool places to make a catch, tell me.

I suppose it'd work in the day with normal socks too. I'm talking on this thread mainly about catches where they spring back (i.e. the poi dont leave your hands) but traditional throw/catch things are good too if anyone wants to mention something about those!

just adlibing this idea abit but if you tried to it with both poi while in weave when you go to one side then back in?? sumamt like dat?

this opens up all kind of glowstickin moves but what im trying to experiment with at the mo is catchin the poi but when there in cuffs so you have one poi head in each hand and the socks interlocking and isolating it so it looks like just one stick hmmmm the possibilties Smile

I personally like double throws that cross each other in the air and single high throws that you can spin your body around before catching. I also favor ending up in split direction after a throw so i can move into the butterfly weave. (AKA The Impossible Weave or a Split Direction Weave)

ive been playin with grabs recently n they look ace.

got a few for ya

1 - 5bt bw (or fw) so just before your hands clash pull the poi back into your hand and push it out again into to the 5bt looks minta when you get it to flow nicely.

2 - fw butterfly stall both out catch them both (takes some practice) then bring your hand together and send em into a vertical and drop stall.

3 - fw butterfly again stall right out just before left grab right let left stall and swing back and throw right poi into and airwrap (i love that one)

4 - hip reels same time which ever hand is in front grab the poi do the motion for the hip reel and on the other side as you release the poi you just grabbed pull in the other one and repeat.

No, cos i cant for the LIFE of me do forwards btb weave.
I might be able to do the butterfly on, cos i've ALMOST got btb ttn, but i still find it hard.
Any more tips?

Felixwahs got a good catch on one of his vids, I can do that into corkscrew with poi but sorry felix mine looks better than yours..finaly...haha (lol @ myself for being a bum) ahh your a god anyways.

My friend does some wierd move where he catches one glowstick in a spiral in one hand leaving the other free to turn about, there are some funky wrap moves he does with it as well, just a suggestion anyways.

Im ill and everyones busy doing exams and it looks like im taking over the forum but im just bored. My 69th post, sexy number.
