sorry is the 360 the one where you go from btbFW (or BW) and turn around so you are doing the other direction behind the back and turn again hense 360.
or is it the one where you stay in one place and (spinning btb) bring them in front of you on your left, then behind then in front on your right then behind and so on.
if it's the first just learn in both directions and practice each direction you want to turn until you get it, then put it together! if it's the second, well i did that after the first so.. |

I think it shoudlnt be all too hard to learn once you get the BtB forwards ad backwards wave.
Atm I can only do the backwards one, but I can still feel a "turning point" so when I turn then I get into the BtB forward spin and get confused and smack myself in the back of the head.
But I think once you nailed both ways it shouldnt be as hard anymore.
Get some nice protection for the back and front of your head before tho :P |

Indeed! Learn BTb forwards and backwards, and practise 180 turns both ways, then try one big circle!
And Ben H I completely disagree! Now this may be down to personal preferance but IMO cobras are way to light.
And how can big flappy annoying tails aid learning?
They tangle up, get in the way and generally are a nuisance.
You're better off with sock poi in my opinion :D |

Cos that helps her doesnt it Ben ^o)
And besides i dont think she is refering to what you are. You are on about spinning your body around while doing it, I think she is on about going from FW to BTB back to FW, which i assume would be near impossible with cobras bvecause of the finger straps.
Correct me if im wrong though Jayne |

You KNOW my btb is naff. However...
Fingerstraps dont help things much, i prefer socks, you cant have them too short, or too long, but its good that you can adjust them, because it is easier at a certain length of poi.
Socks are the only poi you can really adjust rapidly. |

| correct. using cobras/strings will kinda hamper as tbh,a weighty sock is the only thing that will help, work on your turning btb forwards to backwards both directions, break it down and go through step by step til you get it, then go backwards to forwards and repeat...no easy way out of this, it will take time, but remember you gotta do it in 3beat all the time or greater, a btb turn in a 1 - 2 beat weave is bloody hard... |

i think that fingerstraps give you a lot more control as you are usin ya fingers instead of your wrist and can still be adjusted the same as socks. but socks are the best!!! yeh just learn th btb stuff the same as you learnt your normal weave thats the way i looked at it |

i agree felix,, learn the forward btb weave and then the reverse btb weave in seperate parts,,then string em together with the 180/360`s, you need to know how to do the move you "turn"into ya kno ... |

There is a pattern you can follow with your hands for the 360. If you do it normally you will notcie you open your hands at each side and have them crossed in the middle, see it?
Its exactly the same BTB, when you open your hands btb turn 90, close them, open and turn again then do exactly the same to finnish it.
So, your hands open, you turn, your hands cross, then open, then you turn again, then cross your hands- thats a 180. |

|

ive been working on this one.
there are 2 variations from getting btb forwards then spinning around 360 degrees and carrying it on.
the easiest one i recommend is you start btb forwards when youve just finished doing the 3 beat on your right hand side, as your just about to do it on your left hand side turn right for 2 beats, the third beat goes on to your left hand side to begin the reverse btb.
getting btb reverse back to the forwards with the 180 deg turn this time during the 3 beat on your left hand side you turn right, and the 3rd beat has to switch over otherwise you end up getting tangled and wacking ureself, nt sure if this helps i aint got my socks on me, ask if you want a more detailed description
once this is mastered ive found you can switch very fast in a continuous motion 360degrees, so far ive managed a continuous 540 before hitting my legs, they just get in the way... |

I agree. I prefer sock poi of cobras anytime. BUt there is more control with fingerloops for everything other than throws. I think my perfect poi would be socks with fingerloops |
