ok, I am not 100% sure what they are called but have only heard one name- basically a waist lock is where you wrap the poi around your waist or hips and do a tap- usually during corkscrew.
It is a brilliant transition from corkscrew to horizontal butterfly, butterhops and over head butterfly, also to change the direction of a corckscrew or horizontal mexican wave.
It is also nice if you spin as you do it, the poi fan around you- tis nice.
Hope that helps- if it is still confusing tell me I will try to explain better!!! |

They seem to last longer than forward ones.
Vipes i would love for you to explain that throw.
AND WE'RE HOOOOLDIN UP THE BYPASS
WOAAH |
Butterfly throw to BTB catch. (This is for throwing with your right hand).
Do the butterfly throw but instead of it coming over your arm and back to your hand, throw it behind your left shoulder. As it comes over your shoulder put your right hand behind your back over to the left side, where the poi should be. Then once caught swing into a fowards weave.
If you cant understand my utterly bad explaination techniques will try and do a video! |

I think i get it! I'm experimenting with weighting my handles to make wibbling and throws easier. Anyone got any input? Especially for socks.
I also just got crossers thanks to the magic of the encyclopoidia |

Hey all. This is my first post and I'm pretty new to poi. The newest move I landed as of two days ago is the 5-beat weave (forward). Now I'm trying to get it going reverse. lol.

| I tend to use 5 beats in slower spinning too. If its too fast, I think they look sloppy |
