Before you have a heart attack Tony, and anyone else on this site, I would just like to put on the disclaimer that poi is my first love and it will always carry a special place in my heart. This isn't what it looks like and I can explain. I love you poi.
But yeah. i bought a diabolo yesterday. Just a little basic one cos I've never touched one before (but they sure look fun!) I can make it spin, throw and catch it and do trapezes either side. All pretty basic and yeah yeah.
I was wondering if anyone else did diabolo and could start me off somewhere? Like, what trick should I learn next and any tips.
Probably not cos this is a poipoi forum huh :P
Love you! |

i mean i can keep it going for about thirty seconds then it starts to tilt, then just slips and tangels :( |

I found that the first day i was spinning it
after a day of practice i soon got it though (you really have to put aside a few hours just to learn to spin it).
If you're right handed (i.e. whipping with the right hand):
When it tilts forward, bring your right hand backwards and whip
if it tilts backwards, bring your right hand forward and whip
If it starts to twist left or right, erm, just sidestep til you're parallel with it lol |

| if it turns left or right, just give the front or back cup a tap with the stick, and that'll turn it round. It'll wobble a bit, but it'll level out after a few secs |
