| hey i'm fairly new 2 poi i can do 3 beat weave fw and bw and i can thread the needle and butterfly n spilt butterfly and some reverse spinnin stuff that i worked out for ma self but i can't do reels and a 5beat weave :( i even spent all nite into christmas day tryin to learn hip reel n my brain doesn't seem 2 switch on its so confusin 2 me .. can anybody please help me i'm stuck =(.... much appreatiated thnkx!. |

I always give the same advice, (I never get any feedback though :P so i guess it must work!)
Do ONE HAND AT A TIME. Sort out what the left hand will do in a reel to the left, say, then put that poi down, and figure out what the right hand does in the same direction reel. Then try putting them together.
5 beat weave is hard. Look at the hand and wrist position in the tuition video, and focus on making your hands and wrists do that. Also, just force your hands to stay on one side of your body. You'll mess up at the end, but you'll get into the habit of staying there a while. |

Also, just force your hands to stay on one side of your body. You'll mess up at the end, but you'll get into the habit of staying there a while.
did the same thing, it rly helps. about learning a move hand by hand is also realy helpful (learned hip reel with this technique) |
