I had a chat with some of the people I do poi with and they said that they would love to come over and meet you guys on the beach. If your up for it we would probably like to make a night of it and camp out on the beach (were all little party animals). We have quite a nice beat box that does the job when were out and about.

Friday night is a little sketchy for us as some are DJ's and have a weekly friday night spot in a club. Saturday night would be perfect as I can get a babysitter for the evening and during the daytime on Sunday. I know...Im a pain in the bum.

Broadstairs are having folk week at the moment and apparently there will be a fire performance on the beach Wednesday night from about 10pm. I'm going to head over there and introduce myself.

Also on the Friday the 24th there will be fire performances on Herne Bay beach as part of their festival week. I suggest if you can pick up a leaflet as there is a lot on including music workshops, continental markets and various tours of the area.
I will be there on the Friday checking everything out, grabbing some tea and then checking out the fire performances. The website says:-

Well we arrived to a scene of about 15 or so spinners, some were not even local and had just traveled down for the folk week. One of which was a fire juggler, he was cool and shared our huge builder bucket dipping pot and paraffin with us. There were also several staff spinners who were reasonably good but no contact moves.

Hey, noticed this post so i thought id give it a hopeful bump. been spinning a few weeks now and interested in meeting other spinners in the kent area.

Im from margate, i noticed a post on this topic about spinning near margate clock tower green. Do you still meet up there?

And hey daedra btw! Its michael, we met at the juggling soc at uni this wed.
I ordered some sock poi now too hehe, grabbed a set from firetoys, uv yellow.

Im in Margate and its a little cold now for spinning outside. We do meet up occasionaly at a friends on Northdown Rd, would be happy for you to come along and meet the gang!

Alternatively we go to spin fire on Margate beach in the evenings, will let you know when were next having a meeting!

Sounds awesome! I must admit, im not amazing i know most of the basics - hip/shoulder reels/turns, a few weaves several butterflys etc etc but nothing fancy hehe.

Havent span fire yet, getting a set for christmas probably since if i get them before i'll prob get too brave and end up toasted Shocked

If you do meet up sometime and if im welcome to come along, i would love to meet you all.

Yea i was haha. Your not on campus right now are you? i've been sitting here in the libary expecting to suddenly see the poi poi site on someones screen.

Yeah I can meet ya at the station! What usually happens is I finish work at 5:30 then taxi up, but if you can get in around that time I can come meet you and my friend Simon, then we can all journey up together in one big convoy! Weeeeee!

Train probably but I can make my way to the bus depot if thats a problem, I know where that is LOL

I might get in early and head to HOOMV and the indoor market so I dont mind either way!
