Erm, when I do the 3 beat windmill, it's kinda like doing the 4 beat weave. As in, you do the pattern for 3 beats on one side and the pattern for 5 beats on the other side, so you get 4 beats on both sides. So when I do the windmill, I do the usual 2 beats then twist my wrists to let an extra beat in front, then I just do the pattern for 2 behind and it gives you three anyway because you're leading with the opposite hand to usual. So for four I just do the extra twist on both sides.
Maybe try it while doing the corkscrew or whatever it's called (the horizontal windmill type thing) then just make it more vertical when you get the movement? |

ok well you start in the position you would do a hypercuff and infact just like the hypercuff you wrap the poi once as close to your hands as possible and as it wrappin you interupt it with your hand and push that hand forward and it will do a spiral wrap on one hand instead of both of em. will try post a vid later it hard to explain but in theory you can wrap it twice and thread it between both hands one after the other i really have to come for a spin with you guys, dam you brightoners, so far away :( |

yup ya can 5 beat corkscrew and windmill, just means a little bit of body bending and slight wrist wrap of the opposite poi at first.
but back on topic, in order to get into combinations mate, watch some videos of people spinning and see what they do and what looks well. then do somewhere nice, put on some music and lose yourself to the beats with ya poi in hands and see what happens you should be very surprised |
