| Get the Michal Kahn book called poi spinning, Home of Poi (www.homeofpoi.com) sell it. IT IS A BIBLE! They also sell a good DVD which covers some of the basic and intermediate moves called the art of poi. They should get you started! As for moves the weave is a brilliant move because once you get the hang of it it looks wonderful and lots of other moves are related to it. Just turning from a forwards weave to a backwards weave should impress your mates! |

Taking it one step at a time is the best, first just try getting familiar with the poi, swinging them alot on the sides synched and then split time, then spin them alot in reverse synched and split time.
Just got the Michal Kahn book and its great, nice information and a good book overall.
It starts off really basic and progress from there, I'm going through the book now from the start catching up with my moves in reverse as I never thought of how important this is, but all moves needs to be practised in reverse to be able to turn 180 turns with them I guess.
Also just have a pinch of patience and you'll be impressing your friends quickly, but you'll realize how fun it is even poi:ing just by yerself aswell
Truly addictive! |

The best thing to do, is pick one set of moves. so, learn the butterfly then take outs.
Do it slowly and stay calm, if you get annoyed, put them down and come back.!!!! |
