That would be Minneapolis. We've got about a foot and a half of snow right now but it's actually not too cold.
Anyways, hi! I'm Kitanne and I started spinning poi when I was little and have recently gotten back into it. My mom spent time in New Zealand when she was a teenager through an exchange program. Her school performed the traditional Maori Poi and she became very good at it. She taught me and my siblings a little when we were little.
Then when we visited NZ for the Millennium, one of my NZ "cousins" taught me how to spin (trick or as he referred to it, modern) poi a little bit over the weeks we visited them.
But that was way back in 1999, so I've forgotten a lot! But my New Year's resolution was to learn how to do it all over again.

Thank you! I'm a little behind in my resolution (it's almost March and here I'm just starting!) but I think I've already re-figured out how to do the 3-beat Wave.
You can totally call me Kit! Most people do. |
